Primavera en la Costa Brava

Published 14 April 2026 · By New Wave · Costa Brava, Groups

A cove on the Costa Brava

The Costa Brava in April is a different coast from the one in August. The water is cold — nobody is pretending otherwise — but the towns are awake, the coastal paths are green, and a group of forty can walk into a restaurant in Tossa at eight without booking three weeks ahead.

What we book first

Hotels on the coast open in stages through March and April, and the good half-board houses for groups fill from the inside out: the ones nearest the beach go first.

  • Lloret and Blanes for capacity and nightlife within walking distance
  • Tossa de Mar for the walled old town and quieter evenings
  • Calella de Palafrugell when the group is small enough to fit

What the weather actually does

Expect 18–21°C in the day, 12°C at night, and one wet afternoon in a week. We build the programme so the museum day is the flexible one and can swap with the beach day at a day's notice.

The single most useful thing you can tell us is the group's age range. It changes the hotel, the coach timings and the evening plan more than the dates do.

Ask us for a quote and we will come back with two or three shapes for the week.
